Using the customization syntax

Personalization syntax is a set of rules and tags used to insert and manage variables, conditions, and loops within your content. It plays an essential role in helping you structure and personalize your messages for more effective communication.

By using the personalization syntax in your content, you can insert variables to display specific data, such as the recipient's name, recommended products, or contact details. This enables you to personalize each message, making it unique and relevant to each recipient, ultimately boosting engagement and improving the impact of your communications.

Additionally, personalization syntax allows you to apply conditions that adjust based on predefined rules, such as a user's purchasing behavior. This further enhances your ability to deliver targeted messages and provide relevant content to each segment of your audience.

In summary, using personalization syntax in content creation allows you to:

  • Customize your messages

  • Automate the delivery of relevant messages

  • Provide a more engaging user experience

Conditional blocks and loops

What is a conditional block?

Conditional blocks allow your content to include parts that are displayed to a specific type of recipient . Only people who meet a certain condition will see that part of the message. This is a powerful alternative to creating a custom design for each contact segment that should receive different content.

A conditional block is displayed per line , so you must create each content to be displayed conditionally per line.

What is a loop?

Personalization loops allow you to automatically look up a list of items such as order lines or products for each contact and then select which ones you want to display.

By using a loop in your content, you can dynamically insert personalized information such as name, price, image or any other data related to an item.

In the email designer

In the email designer, you can add conditions and loops on a row by selecting the row and clicking the Add conditions and loops button.
