Let's start with the most common user journey on the web as your distribution will mainly start with a URL (on your website, email, SMS, QR-Code, etc...).

iOS

On iPhone, the user will add the Pass in two steps only by clicking on the URL it will be redirected to the Apple Wallet pass preview and open the Pass directly in Apple Wallet as shown in the first image.

Android

The same option is now available on Android via Google Wallet, which means that push notifications can be sent in the same way as with Apple Wallet. For this reason, we have changed the way we send web push notifications, opting for native push apps that offer much wider coverage. For more information on this change to Google Wallet, here's an article explaining it in detail.

Google Wallet is not available in some countries.

So, in these countries, we will provide a Pass reader to enable the user to add the Pass (with Pass2U by default).

The device has the Google Wallet app pre-installed.
Google Wallet is pre-installed on several devices including models like Google Pixels.

Desktop & iPad

On the desktop or iPad journey, it is necessary to enter the phone number or to scan a QR code in order to be able to add the Pass on the mobile. Once the user has scanned the QR-Code or clicked on the personalized link sent by SMS, our solution handles the platform switch (refer to our dedicated guide for more details).
