Creating your first contact filter

To get started go to Target > filters > new filter. By default, your filter scope will be on your contacts, but you can also create filters on products, stores, receipts or abandoned carts by changing the scope.

💡Note that in the examples we have used custom fields. Custom fields are items in the database that were configured for your organization. This is usually data stored that is not used directly to send email or SMS messages.

In the first example, we have created a filter of all contacts whose language matches "English", "Spanish" and "French".

In the second example, we have added more conditions (gender, email openings and city) which can be combined with the operator "OR" and "AND".

Editing your filter

You can edit your filters at any time. The conditions will be automatically applied anywhere you filter is being used and the filter recounted.
