Uploading a design from a universe into another one

In Message Builder, it is now possible to upload a design (template) from a universe into another one. Note that the word "template" is not related to the templates we make available for our clients but to the structure of the email in Message Builder.

.

When can this be useful?
  • To re-use previously created email designs structures on any universe (when a client decides for example to open new universes)

  • To investigate issues happening on a client universe in Message Builder onto an internal universe (for our Customer Care teams).

How does it work?

In order for the tool to work, you first need the structure which is the Json file that is saved in Splio and re-used in the Message Builder every time we want to modify/duplicate the design. Each email design has its own structure (Json file).

.

Step 1: Getting your Json file ready

Go to the About tab after saving the design > select the URL (this is the email's HTML, for example https://file.splio3.fr/7TC/86/XNn0/)

Once you have the URL of the email, you need to add /index.json at the end of this URL as shown below:

https://file.splio3.fr/7TC/86/XNn0/index.json

Your file is ready, now copy it into your web browser and right-click on the page > save it to your files (you can rename it if you wish).

Step 2: Inserting the Json into Message Builder

Now that you have saved the Json with the right extension, you can create a new design > click on upload a template > select your file.

Your design will then appear in the Message Builder as shown on the GIF.
